Heartless

December 21, 2011

More high-speed harshness is served up by Pittsburgh outfit Heartless on their debut album Hell is Other People (I guess they’re big on Sartre). Labelling themselves hardcore I’d say these guys have way more in common with early UK grindcore outfits like Napalm Death or Repulsion than originators like Circle Jerks or Black Flag. We’re talking harsh high-energy blasts of various speeds with growled vocals, mixed with some slow, dirgy parts – few of them more than a minute in length.

You get thirteen songs clocking in at around 22 minutes of pure aggression that I’m sure will please punks and fans of extreme metal alike. Physical copies has been released by Southern Lord and the band has two 7″ singles available for download as well.
