Le Butcherettes

December 14, 2011

Mexican (?) garage new-wave trio Le Butcherettes might not need the exposure (they’re already receiving write-ups and coverage in LA Times, recently Henry Rollins himself raved about them, touring Australia right now opening for Omar Rodriguez Lopez Trio, and they recently earned a slot opening for Iggy & The Stooges!), but I instantly fell in love with their sound and music the very minute I heard it. A nice blend of garage and new wave delivering some great pop hooks without sounding blatantly commercial.

Vocalist Teri Gender Bender has got a great voice, sometimes bringing PJ Harvey to mind and they offered up so many good, varied tracks on their first album Sin Sin Sin, it was damn hard to choose just one, so do yourself a favor and make sure to check out all of them!
