Australian septet (!!!) King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard offers up the same kind of fuzzed-out, noisy garage mayhem like Mick Collins‘ various outfits and especially Texas garagers The Fireworks did 10+ years ago. There’s reverb a-plenty, tons of fuzz and distortion on pretty much everything from the drums up to vocals, guitars and the occasional harmonica, and their debut Willoughby’s Beach EP stays pretty faithful to the niche their predecessors carved out.

Ten noisy tracks with some nice roots and the occasional surprise when it comes to background vocals. There’s a limited edition available on 10″ vinyl. Fans of the 1990’s Crypt Records garage wave should take notice!
